Development of education of future experts in the area of infectious diseases, conservation medicine and wildlife health in Somaliland

Development of wildlife/nature conservation activities in Somaliland creates an urgent need for gradual capacity building in the area of wildlife medicine and education of local wildlife health specialists under umbrella of One Health paradigm. 

Our goal is to develop education, research and implementation projects in the area of conservation medicine and wildlife health to strengthen the wildlife conservation activities and to provide a robust veterinary background for existing and future wildlife conservation projects in independent Somaliland



Our activities:


  • Training of local specialists
  • Support in teaching and training courses for students
  • Establishment of a system of routine/preventive and emergency medicine of wildlife
  • Establishment of a basic diagnostic lab in collaboration with partners
  • Initiation of a volunteer programme for existing facilities
  • Promotion of wildlife research as part of One Health concept with involvement of local 
specialists and students
